PRODUCT OVERVIEW

In developing the Synchro-Drive Timing Belt, AUTOVISION has set themselves the task of producing a belt that can excel alongside leading brands from America and Europe – a truly WORLD CLASS belt.

TIMING BELTSare required to cope with the ever increasing demands put on them by the more efficient and quieter modern car engines. OUR Synchro-Drive timing belts are designed to last longer, carry higher loads and operate at higher temperatures with reduced noise levels. Our team of specialist engineers developed the manufacturing process after considerable research and trials. Rigorous tests were conducted to prove the belt’s performance and life. Only the best of raw materials from the wolrd’s leading manufacturers were chosen.

  1. : The tooth and body of the belt is made up of a specially compounded rubber for high shear strength and resistance to oil and heat. While polychloroprene is the polymer used in the standard heat resistant belts, HSN is used in belts where higher temperature resistant properties are called for.
  2. : The tensile cords are made of high modulus low stretch fibre glass.
  3. : The backing or the overcord of the belt is again a specially compounded rubber for high resistance to oil, heat and abrasion. The polymer employed is polychloroprene or HSN.
  4. : The tooth facing is made up of a specially woven polyamide fabric for high wear resistance and low co-efficient of friction.

Though the majority of the engine manufacturers have standardised on a tooth pitch of 3/8th inch (9.525 mm) for the drive system belt and pulleys (on the camshaft, crankshaft and ancilliaries), there are few who have adopted an 8 mm pitch (with curvilinear tooth profile). Whilst the three basic tooth profiles are the trapezoidal, the curvilinear and the modified curvilinear profiles, there are a number of variations evolved by belt manufacturers with a view to improve performance and reduce noise levels as well as to offer equivalents to other manufacturers belts.
